Peter Fessler singer and vocal-instrumentalist, with his style of instrumental singing is the only, really unique jazz singer among the European jazz singers and has created with the group «Fesperanto» an individual, unique, virtuosic, improvisational language.
He crosses vocal boundaries and trusts without compromise the actual universal language of vocal jazz, the scat-vocal sound. Allowing him deep magical moments, improvisational trance by which he surrenders, with highest musicality, but also with great ease, to the music.
In his current most successful live-project: Brasiliana he achieves this in a spiritually breathtaking way. Fessler sings compositions by Baden Powell, Luis Bonfa, A. C. Jobim and originals, in English und Portuguese, and his guitar accompaniments sound like a second voice.
His treatment of «Saudades», Brazil? s unique ballad-form for expressing moods, melancholy or nostalgia with Brazilian rhythms and syncopations, his absolute timing, his (typical for Brazilian singers) satin like scat vocalisms show, how much Fessler has adapted his style to this music.
